Marlène Izere, born in 1993 in Burundi, lives in Anderlecht, has Rwandan roots and works as a coordinator. Fled with her parents and came to Belgium when she was four, where they first lived in the refugee shelter. Enjoys fitness, yoga, concerts in the Magdalena room, Muntpunt and other libraries. She is glad Brussels is not too touristy. She likes Rwandan traditions like speech-making and busy family parties. Digital connection with family via WhatsApp is something she appreciates. Her questions to the future are about security, political decisiveness and women-friendly city.
