Nicole Mertz, born in Paris in 1945, has lived in Uccle since she married in 1972, has French roots and is retired. Originally strongly focused on France, her bond with Brussels has grown, partly due to her life and family situation. She is active in the Kuulkappers and she loves the openness and humour of Brussels, putting herself in perspective. For her, Brussels is also poverty and a general decline in terms of citizenship, mobility like the steps and political mores. Her questions about the future are about climate, future generations and role as capital of Europe.
