Jacopo Lombardi, born in Rome in 1969, lives in Etterbeek and works for the European Commission in international aid. He has lived in Brussels for more than 20 years, but does not really feel like a Brussels resident. He loves the scale, the rich cultural offering, the nightlife and the strong identity of Brussels' neighbourhoods. He regrets the politics, public services, gentrification and certain urban developments. For him, Brussels is the Cinquantenaire Park, Avenue Molière, small-scale trade and many memories such as the Tom Tom Club. His questions for the future concern the survival of Brussels as a city or region.
