Hugo Carmeliet, born in Sint Niklaas in 1938, has lived in Anderlecht since 1965 and is a retired priest-worker. It was the time of migrant communities coming to Belgium and helping them build a life. He often goes to the senior citizens' service centre Cosmos. Brussels, for him, is above all Cureghem. And the greenery around the city like the Sonian Forest. He thinks the Zinneke parade is something very beautiful. He has a hard time with the undervaluation of Dutch, especially in hospitals. But he also sees more and more children of African descent going to Dutch-language education, creating a new group of Dutch speakers. He also thinks the role of Bruzz is important. His questions to the future are about living together as one city, cleanliness and culture.
